The greatness of Homoeopathy is that with the spread of Swine flu virus we don't have to dash to the laboratory to find new drugs to deal with it (as is happening with general or allopathic medicine). Homoeopathy has more than enough drugs in it's armory to deal with the new threat.

Another irony which strikes us is that allopathic drug companies the world over are feverishly making swine flu vaccines. Influenzinum - This acts as a preventive as well as it also cures. It may be taken in the 30 or 200 potency. If taken in the 30 potency, it is to be taken every two days. If 200 potency, it is to be taken once a week. But there are no hard and fast rules.

Arsenic Album - A major drug to fight swine flu. I think even if given haphazardly it can cure 95% of the cases. Vital drug in this flu.

Aconite Napellus - Inflammations. High fever. Dry skin. Restlessness (may be with fear of death). Dry racking cough with or without oppression . Stitches in chest.

Natrum Sulph 6x - Can be taken by everyone. Thick yellow discharge. Salty mucus. Cough with bursting headache. Tears flowing.

Gelsemium Sempervirens - Useful in the early stages of swine flu. It has sneezing, frequent and violent chilliness up and down the back, face flushed red, watery discharge from the nose which is non-irritating. Muscles ache. No thirst but severe headache.

Eupatorium Perf - Fever with chill and vomiting. Shivers in the back which spreads to the extremities. Deep pain in the bones relieved by pressure and movement. Thirst but water tastes saltish or oily. Sneezing, hoarseness and loose cough. Dryness of body.

Bryonia Album - When the flu is complicated with pneumonia. Shooting pains in muscles which are worse with least movement. Sweating of body. Dry hacking cough causes pain in lungs and chest.

Rhus Tox - Flu with constant chilliness as if cold water poured over the body. As if cold blood running in the veins with pain in the limbs. Tongue is dry with triangular tip. Hard tickling cough.

Baptisia Tinctoria - Besotted face, bleary eyes, aching head, sore throat, pains and soreness all over the body. Utter weakness. Patient is in a stupor from which it is difficult to arouse. Darkish coloration of the face.

Carduus Marianus - Needed when the liver is involved too.

Causticum - High fever without chill. Weakness. Nose stopped. Sore and bruised sensation in the body. Involuntary urination on coughing.

Kali Bich - When there is cough after the fever has abated. Phlegm is sticky; can be drawn into a thread. Weakness. Ulceration of the mucus membrane of the nose. Dryness with pain at the root of the nose. Clinkers in the nose.

Carbo Veg - Helps in dealing with post-influenzal symptoms like prostration, residual bronchitis and burning in soles of feet.

Ammonium Carb - For the cough remaining after the flu.

Dulcamara - Eyes suffused, sore throat, no chiiliness, much weakness. Persistent dry hacking cough.
